Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the strategic direction of research initiatives at Heidelberg University, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Manage large-scale research projects, ensuring alignment with the university's vision and goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external research institutions, industry partners, and government agencies.
  • Drive the university’s research funding strategy, identifying opportunities for grants, donations, and partnerships.
  • Supervise and mentor research staff, including postdoctoral researchers and PhD students.
  • Monitor the progress of research projects, ensuring high-quality outputs and timely delivery.
Qualifications
  • A PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Natural Sciences, Engineering, Humanities).
  • 10+ years of experience in research and academic leadership.
  • Strong track record of securing research funding and managing large research teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
  • Fluency in German and English.
